Delicate equipment requires processes and materials that will not damage them. Low pressure injection molding uses low pressure to inject the plastic into a mold. Melting Material

The first step in the low pressure injection molding process is to heat the plastic until it is in a liquid form. Plastic media, of a type appropriate for the equipment being molded, in the form of pellets, powder, or flakes, are fed into a hopper. The hopper is then heated until the plastic melts to a liquid state.

Injection Into A Mold

Once the plastic is melted, it needs to be injected into a mold quickly so that it can cool and harden into the desired shape. The pressure and speed of the injection process need to be carefully controlled. If the pressure is too high, it can damage the equipment. If the velocity is too high, it can cause voids or bubbles in the final product.

The plastic is injected into a mold at low pressure. The mold is the negative of the desired shape of the finished product. It is made out of metal and has cavities in the shape of the desired product. Filing the mold can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the size of the product.

Cooling and Removal

Once the plastic has cooled and hardened, the mold is opened to cool the part and allow it to be removed. The product is then trimmed off any excess plastic, and the process is complete. It can take a few seconds to a few minutes for the plastic to cool and harden. The finished product is then checked for quality and any voids or defects.

The result is a finished product that is the same shape as the mold. Low pressure injection molding method is a safe and precise way to create small, delicate parts. It is an efficient method to produce products with consistent quality.
